Symptoms

General symptoms of ringworm are known to be as follows:
  • Itchy blisters,
  • Reddish inflammations,
  • raised, scaly patches that may ooze out in some cases,
  • The rashes seem to have sharply-defined edges,
  • The patches are often reddish around the outside with normal skin tone in the inside and hence giving the appearance of a ring.
If ringworm affects your hair, you will have bald patches.
If ringworm affects your nails, they will become discolored, thick, and could even crumble.


Infections anywhere on the body gives rise to such scaly red patches and infection on the feet may cause athlete's foot and in the groin area its called as jock itch. Infection of the nails is called as conalychomycosis, and they become thick, discolor, and finally crumble and fall off.
They are common in most adults, that its found out that up to 20 percent of the population having one of these infections at any given moment.
Dermatophytosis gets worse during summer, and the symptoms alleviates during the winter.Animals such as dogs and cats also carry  ringworm most of the times and the disease can be transmitted between animals and humans which is termed as zoonotic disease.
