Ringworm is a skin rash that is caused by the fungal infection which keeps spreading in ring shape and hence the name.Ringworm is also called as "
Dermatophytes". Most of the people who are affected with ringworm feel depressed at some or other time,especially if its recurring and when it keeps spreading.
Fungi are micro organisms which survive in living cells and dead cells of plants,humans or animals.The dermatophytes feed on keratin that is found in the epidermis,hair and nails.
They begin to grow in warm and moist conditions.
People with suppressed immune system or chronic illness like
diabetes,cancer or AIDS and children gets affected more with ringworm.
Ringworm is also common among athletes and swimmers.
Once the infection starts spreading you could see various ring shaped reddish patches on the skin.
