Generally ringworm is said to be common in children but is not limited to them.It can affect people of all ages especially those with suppressed immune system.

The fungi can grow and multiply in warm and moist areas.
Ringworm is highly contagious.It spreads so easily from the infected person to others.
Cat is the general carrrier of the disease.It also thrives in moist areas like swimming pool,lockers,tanning salons,showers,etc.,

Pets with bald patches are known to carry ringworm infection.Anyone who touches such pets or shares the towels,beddings or combs from the infected person is likely to be infected with the disease.

Its also more likely to develop when you are wet and warm like under a hot sun or sweating,etc.,
